Verna L. Stafford, 83

Kassidy Egan. She is further survived by sisters Martha Mate and Dolores (Raymond) Rechlin, many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Verna is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and several broth-Verna L. Stafford (nee Kienitz) passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010, at the age of 83.

Verna was born on July 5, 1927, to Emil and Ida (nee Schmidt) Kienitz. She married Virgil Stafford on Oct. 5, 1946 in Milwaukee.

Verna loved to bake her famous banana bread and cookies for all around town to enjoy, and she also enjoyed sewing. Verna was known as "Grandma" to all the children in Jackson. She babysat many children over the years, spreading extra "Grandma love and joy." Verna was devoted to her family and spent every moment she could with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Verna is survived by her children Lanna (Paul) Egan and Todd Stafford; grandchildren Chuck (Lisa) Wendorf, Carrie Stolarczyk, Chad Wendorf, Michael Stafford, Jason Stafford, and Pete (Laurie) Egan; and great-grandchildren Andrew Kruepke, Christian, Sydney, Charlie, and Colin Wendorf, Robin and Jerry Stolarczyk, and Anthony, Jackie, and several brothers and sisters.

A funeral service for Verna will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at Good Shepherd Evangelical Luth-eran Church, 777 S. Indiana Ave., West Bend with Rev. Robert Hein presiding. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Interment will take place at Washington County Park.
