Margaret M. McGucken, 91
Margaret
M. McGucken of West Bend, formerly of Milwaukee, went to God's loving
embrace on Aug. 3, 2010 at the age of 91.
She was born on June 14, 1919 to the late Robert and Cora (nee Havlisch)
McGucken.
After attending St. Sebastian's Elementary School and later graduating
from Holy Angels High School in Milwaukee, Margaret novitiated with the
BVM Order, attending Clarke College in Dubuque, IA. She returned home to
care for her mother, Cora.
She continued her education at the Wisconsin State Teachers College where
she earned the equivalent of a master’s degree.
For many years, she taught in the Milwaukee Public School system at Samuel
Morse Junior High School. The students benefitted greatly from her
knowledge, discipline and dedication.
After her retirement, she lived in Germantown where she continued to touch
the lives of children by substitute teaching at St. Boniface School.
In 1987, Margaret moved to West Bend to be near her sister Rose and made
many friends in the community.
Survivors include a sister Rose Prinz of West Bend; nieces and nephews
Joan (Ken) Riggs, Dick (Chris) Mc-Gucken, Mick (Holly) McGucken, Eileen
(Len) Czecholinski, Chuck (Diane) Prinz, Sally Prinz, Bill Prinz, Bob (Lauri)
Prinz, Marge (Dave) Clementi and John (Theresa) Prinz, many other
relatives and friends.
Awaiting her in Heaven are her parents, brothers and sisters-in-law John
(Harriet) McGucken and Bob (Hortense) McGucken, brother-in-law Charles
Prinz Sr., nephew and niece-in-law Jim (Judy) Prinz; nieces Sharon Balboa
and Kathy Burns and great-niece Amy Notaney.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Aug. 6 at noon
at Holy Angels Catholic Church with inurnment at Washington County
Memorial Park. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church
only on Friday from 10:30 until 11:45 a.m. Masses or memorials are
appreciated.
