Jeanette Ann Dallmann
Jeanette Ann Dallmann, 97, formerly of West
Fiesta Lane in Mequon, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Highlands of
Newcastle Place in Mequon where she had been a resident the past two
years.
She was born on May 13, 1913 in New London, Wis. to Charles H. and Mary
Neuens Lewis, Jr. After her father died, she moved to live with her
grandparents in Port Washington, Wis. Her grandfather, Charles H. Lewis,
was the light station keeper at the time. Later she moved to Milwaukee and
attended Riverside High School.
On February 14, 1942, she married George E. Dallmann of Milwaukee at
Garden Home Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. She had worked for Wisconsin
Telephone in Milwaukee over 40 years as a supervisor in data processing.
She retired in 1972. Since 1953 they had called Mequon their home.
Her husband preceded her in death on January 29, 2003.
She had been an active member of St. John's Mequon Lutheran Church
and the Telephone Pioneers, a charitable group. She was proud of the Port
Washington Historical Society Light Station restoration and shared many of
her memories and family heritage.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services have been held with interment at Union Cemetery in Port
Washington. Memorials to the Port Washington Historical Society Light
Station or the Judge Eghart House Museum of Port Washington are
appreciated.
