Jeanette M. ‘Netti’ Stecker, 87
Jeanette M. "Netti" Stecker of Cedarburg passed away peacefully on Aug. 12, 2010, at Ellen’s Home in Port Washington at the age of 87 years.
Netti was born in Cedarburg on Oct. 23, 1922, to August and Marie (nee Bradly) Frank and married Edmund "Junior" Stecker on April 25, 1942, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg.
Netti was a devoted member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. She was baptized there, married there and now will pass into Heaven through St. Francis. Netti was also a lifelong resident of the very closely knit Cedarburg community. She was born in a little house on Columbia Avenue and was part of the fabric of the city for her entire life.
Netti was a longtime member and past president of the Cedarburg Woman’s Club. She devoted countless hours to the club for the betterment of the community around her, which she loved. Netti was also a devoted Bridge player, in fact, over $90 in "winnings" were found in her dresser drawer.
Netti was the rock that held her family together through good times and bad. Now she is reunited with her beloved husband, Junior, and many family and friends who have preceded her into Heaven. We who are left behind mourn the loss of and celebrate the life of an extraordinary mother. grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. We are all better for having known her, and we can be sure she is looking back on her life with a smile and dancing a waltz with Junior. She has earned both.
Netti is survived by her children, Sister Sharon Stecker, SSND, of Milwaukee, Jayne (Bob) Taylor of Newport Beach, Calif., and Christopher (Anne) Stecker of Lake Geneva; grandchildren, Erin Rose and Kate Marie Stecker; one brother, Gerald (Nancy) Frank of Grafton; two sisters, Rosemarie (Bob) Krause of Grafton and Grace (Tony) Bell of Cedarburg.
