Cecilia M. Strupp, 99
Cecilia M. Strupp (nee Tennies), 99, of West Bend died Friday, Aug.13,
2010, at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.
She was born Jan. 6, 1911, in the town of West Bend to the late Henry and
Anna (nee Willkomm) Tennies and married Isador J. Strupp on May 30, 1931,
at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Slinger. Isador preceded her in death
on Sept. 15, 1979.
Cecilia and Isador settled on the Strupp Homestead in the town of Addison
where she lived until 1989 when she moved to Cedar Ridge.
She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella in Hartford and the
Christian Woman’s Confraternity at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Survivors include her eight children, Dolores Koenig of West Bend, Janet
(Eugene) Fritz of Allenton, Peter A. (Elaine) of Hartford, Cecile Schmidt
of Kewaskum, Frederick (Elaine) of Hartford, Betty Mae (Marvin) Hembel of
Jackson, Mary Lou (Jerry) O’Shea of Newport, Wash., and Thomas of Kiel,
31 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Arlene Strupp of Napa,
Calif., and Antoinette (Ed) Netzel of Hartford; nieces, nephews and other
relatives and friends.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Tennies; her
husband, Isador Strupp; three sons-in-law, Marvin Koenig, Vernon Goeden
and Marvin Schmidt; a daughter-in-law, Carol Strupp; seven brothers, John
(Gertrude) Tennies, Phillip (Theresa) Tennies, Benedict (Kate) Tennies,
Peter (Norma) Tennies, George Tennies, Webster (Inez) Tennies and Henry
Tennies in infancy; three sisters, Helen (Louis) Ackerman, Betty (Venice)
Straub and Catherine Tennies in infancy; and her sister-in-law, Viola
Tennies.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at
7 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Lawrence with the Rev.
Richard Stoffel presiding. Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. in St.
Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, at the church only from 2
p.m. until 6:45 p.m.
