Kenneth ‘Ken’ Kluck, 54

Kenneth "Ken" Kluck, 54, of Hartford, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford.

Ken was born Aug. 7, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Lloyd and Barbara (nee McGeough) Kluck. He was united in marriage to Mary Stephans on Nov. 4, 1977, at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Hartford.

Ken graduated from Hartford Union High School in 1974. He was a police officer with the Watertown Police department for two years and the Hartford Police Department for 35 years. He enjoyed camping, playing cribbage and sheepshead. Ken loved baseball and coached Little League for 12 years and high school baseball for 17 years. Ken was also the manager of the Hartford Hawks for 11 years. He served as secretary of the Rock River Baseball League and was past president of the Hartford Police Union.

Ken is survived by his wife Mary; his sons, Ben, Jim (Sara) and Tom Kluck; his father, Lloyd Kluck; his sister, Kathy (Blaine) Lauersdorf; and his brother, Kevin (Becky) Kluck; his uncles, Tom (Donna) Kluck and Jim (Sue) McGeough; his aunt, Margaret (Doc) Blanchard; his mother- and father-in-law, Bill (Mary) Stephans; his sisters- and brothers-in-law, Paul (Janel) Stephans, John (Shelia) Stephans, Monica Bartley, Martha (Mike) Sheridan and Francie (Jay) Robbe. He is further survived by 11 nieces, 10 nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Kluck; grandparents, Harry (Ruth) Kluck and Barbara (Irvin) McGeough.

Mass of Christian burial for Ken will be held Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4886 Highway 175, St. Lawrence, with the Rev. Joseph Dominic officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Kilian Cemetery.

Memorials to the Hartford Hawks baseball team are appreciated.
