Harold J. Hartman, 94
Harold
J. Hartman, 94, longtime resident of the town of Trenton, passed away on
Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center in
Antigo.
He was born on July 6, 1916, in Belgium to William and Amelia (nee Mahn)
Hartman.
Harold married Lorraine Kraniak in 1939, who preceded him in death in
1982. In March of 1985, he married Lillian Crampton. Harold attended
Pleasant Hill School. He managed a farm for most of his life while also
working as a skilled welder. He shared his talents with neighboring
farmers in repairing their equipment. He was recognized by the Department
of Defense during WWII as having one of the highest welder certifications
for the defense projects. Harold was employed at Stolper Industries in
Menomonee Falls until his retirement in 1980.
Harold is survived by his wife, Lillian; children, Deacon Thomas (Clara)
Hartman of Antigo, Charles (Stevie) Hartman of Ishpeming, Mich., and Caron
(Norm) Wallman of Cherokee Village, Ark., six grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Lori Weiss of West Bend, Jane Raymer
of Milwaukee and Lydell (Bob Wood) Weiss of Sheboygan; step-son, David
(Cindy) Weiss of Racine; six grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine; his parents; two
sisters and a brother.
A private family service for Harold was held on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010,
at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel in West Bend with the Rev. Donald Koehn
presiding. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date at Holy
Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Newburg. Memorials are appreciated to either
First Presbyterian Church, 2281 Highway 164 in Richfield or to the family
at 555 Veterans Drive, West Bend, WI, 53095.
