Arland E. Griepentrog, 82, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.

He was born on Nov. 13, 1928, in the town of Wayne to Oscar and Vinelda (nee Boettcher) Griepentrog. On March 1, 1949, he was united in marriage to Jayne Steffan at Zion Evangelical Luther Church in the town of Wayne. Arland and Jayne lived in Shawano for 17 years until moving to West Bend in 2009.

He worked construction for Super Excavators in Butler and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Arland is survived by his wife, Jayne of West Bend; four children, Keith (Lisa) Griepentrog of Silverdale, Wash., Mary (Jim) Radoll of West Bend, Kelvin (Debbie) Griepentrog of Waukesha and Lola Hall of Racine; six grandchildren, Kara (Kevin) Pentz, Kurt Griepentrog, Charlotte (John) Omdoll, Brenda Radoll, Jason Griepentrog, Jessica (Jared) Wegner; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Wegner and Zack Pentz; three sisters, Carol (Merlin) Volm of the town of Wayne, Ruth (Roman) Saver of Columbus and Shirley (Lee) Frazier of Madison; two brothers, Lester (Rosie) Griepentrog of Hartford and Milton Griepentrog of Madison; two sisters-in-law, Eugenia (Peter) Bruckert of Theresa and Shirley (Herb) Ritger of West Bend; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Lloyd.

Funeral services in remembrance of Arland will be held on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. The Rev. Steve Bode from Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate and entombment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
