Lillian F. Fickler, 97
Lillian
F. Fickler passed away peacefully at her home, The Beehive Assisted Living
in Forest Grove, Ore.
She was born May 22, 1913, in Slinger, to Emil and Katherine Zimmerman,
and spent her childhood growing up there.
She married Karl Fickler on May 28, 1932, and she spent her married life
living in Fillmore as a housewife. She tended to a large garden, canned
food, did lots of cooking and baking and remembered everyone with a
greeting card for their special occasion.
With advancing years, in 1999 she moved from Wisconsin to Aloha, Ore., to
be closer to her daughter and family. She enjoyed the opportunity to meet
new friends. There were many happy family gatherings with the laughter of
grandchildren and then great-grandchildren that shared their love with
her.
Lillian is survived by a brother, Norman Zimmerman of Slinger; two sons,
Gene of Boykins, Va., and Terry of Hillsboro, Ore.; one daughter, Judith
Bria of Aloha, Ore.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Karl; her son, Carl Jr.;
grandson, Steve Fickler; six brothers, Henry, Emil, Clarence, Wilmer,
Clinton and Daniel; and seven sisters, Hilda, Olga, Irene, Elanore,
Florence, Amanda and Mildred.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements by Ed Gamble Funeral Home, Savannah, Ga., and the Springer
& Son Aloha Funeral Home and Crematory, Aloha, Ore.
