Alice Linda Marie Kannenberg, 104, died on Dec. 2, 2010.
Born in Chicago, she lived most of her life in Wisconsin, including Batavia, Beechwood, West Bend and Wauwatosa.
She was the wife of the late Edgar Sauter and the late Erwin Kannenberg, loving mother of Yvonne (nee Sauter) Locker, dear grandmother of Heidi (Bruce) Locker-Scheer, and proud great-grandmother of Tiffany Scheer. She is further survived by sister, Edna (nee Voigt) Jungers; sister in-law, Genevieve (nee Jungers) Voigt; two nieces; four nephews; and cousin and dear friend, Dora Schleif.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Oswald and Augusta (nee Mehlos) Voigt; brothers, William and Orrin Voigt; son-in-law, Charles Locker; brother-in-law, Richard Jungers; and sister-in-law, Verneda Voigt.
Alice was a florist and small business owner, beginning her floral business by selling Yule logs during the Depression. She ran Alice Flower & Gifts in West Bend for 34 years, then enjoyed continuing her profession helping her daughter at Lockerís Flowers. Alice belonged to Eastern Star, the Republican Party, the Wauwatosa Congregational Church and attended with her daughter at the Naples Congregational Church. She enjoyed arranging flowers and painting.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 5, at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m., followed by committal services at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
Because of her life-long love for flowers, their gift would be most appreciated.
