Laurelda A. ‘LaLa’ Lechner, 94
Laurelda A. Lechner, 94, formally of Mayville, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at the Samaritan House in West Bend.
LaLa was born the daughter of Albert and Lauretta (nee Attenberger) Collien on May 31, 1916, in Brownsville. LaLa was united in marriage to George S. Lechner on June 24, 1939, in Oakfield. She was a graduate of Oakfield High School.
LaLa was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mayville. Together with her husband, she owned and operated Lechners Tavern in Mayville. She was also a volunteer driver for Dodge County. In her spare time, LaLa enjoyed bowling, bingo and line dancing.
LaLa is survived by her children, George Jr. (Barbara) Lechner of Bloomington, Ind., Patricia (Michael) Bonnett of Mayville, Sharon (Michael) Blank of West Bend, Douglas (Rita) Lechner of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.; sister, Nyla Wild of Waupun; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1983; a daughter, Sandra Ann; and a brother, Robert Albert.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at noon at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mayville, with the Rev. Sam Jackson officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. to noon at the church. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Mayville.
