Anne Marie Zolinski, 77

Anne Marie Zolinski, 77, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, surrounded by her children and her extended family of care professionals at the Samaritan Health Center.

Anne or "Annie" as she was known to many, was born on Nov. 20, 1933, to the late Cyrill W. and Anna C. (nee Hoffmann) in Milwaukee. Anne was married to Robert J. Choinski Sr. from 1954 to 1961, and later met and married her best friend and soul mate, Leonard J. Zolinski. Anne and Len enjoyed living in West Bend and Florida, and explored countless new places while traveling the countryside in their Pace Arrow motor home to visit family and friends.

Anne was a stay-at-home mom, a homemaker and a person that enjoyed all things related to her family including family gatherings, cooking and craft making. She was a valued confidant and enjoyed lending an ear and advice to others dealing with the normal challenges of everyday life.

Anne is survived by her children, Bob (Lori) Choinski and Julie (Pete) Gabelmann, all of West Bend; and her grandchildren, Coral Rae (Rob) Kline and Andy Vetrone. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Katherine (Bernie) Hartert, Julie (Monte) Laverenz and Cyrill "Butch" (Sharon) Hoffmann; other dear relatives and friends.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard J. Zolinski; brother-in-law, Monte R. Laverenz; and both of her parents, Cyrill and Anna Hoffmann.

In honor of Anne’s wishes, the family held a private memorial service to celebrate Anne’s life on Friday, Dec. 3. The Schmitt Funeral Home of West Bend handled the arrangements and provided gentle guidance to the family for the memorial service.

The family also wishes to express very special thanks to Nurse-Manager Deb Van Beek and all of the companions and health care providers at the Samaritan Health Center for their kindness, compassion and loving support over the years.
