Lorraine A. Didier, 78, of West Bend, passed away on Thursday morning, Dec. 9, 2010, at Kathy Hospice in West Bend.
The former Lorraine Ann Averill was born on Oct. 30, 1932, in West Bend to Ogle and Adah (nee Skeel) Averill. She graduated from West Bend High School in 1951. Lorraine was united in marriage on Sept. 6, 1952, to Robert G. Didier at 5th Avenue United Methodist Church, West Bend. In her younger years Lorraine worked as a laborer at Enger Kress and West Bend Company.
She was also employed as an aid at Fair Park School and helped out with the hot lunch program. Most importantly, she spent most of her years as a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her husband and raising her family. Lorraine liked cooking and spending time with relatives and friends. She was a lifelong member of 5th Avenue United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Robert; and two children, Shelley (Gerald) Wilkens of West Bend and Robert (Lynn) Didier of Clintonville; three grandchildren, Dustin and Madelyn Didier and Noah Wilkens; and two sisters, Charolette Schneider of West Bend and Lois Foch of Ashford. She is further survived by a brother, Leroy (Marilyn) Averill of Florida; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Brenda; an infant son, Scott; a grandson, Nathan Wilkens; a brother, Eugene Averill; and a brothers-in-law, Lavern Schneider and Willie Foch.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend. The Rev. Wesley Falk will officiate and burial will follow at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Friends may call on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
