Marion Bartell, 70

Marion Carol Bar-tell (Hardt), 70, of Slinger, died on Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at St. Joseph's Hospital in the Town of Polk with her husband by her side.

Marion was born on Dec. 22, 1939, to the late Arthur and Violet Hardt in Sheboygan, Wis. She was united in marriage to Robert Werner Bartell from 1961 to 2010. They had 49 beautiful, loving years together.

Marion was a loving wife, devoted mother and affectionate grandmother. One of Marion's favorite pastimes was cooking and baking for her kids and grandkids. Her cupboards were always overflowing for all who came. You could always anticipate a five course meal upon arrival. "If you leave hungry, it's your own fault!"

Everyone knew her Christmas cookies were the talk of the season. Christmas wasn't Christmas until the cookies were done.

Marion enjoyed feeding and caring for the animals around her country home. Her joy of gardening accented her love for the outdoors. Her presence will remain in dozens of gardens.

Also important to Marion was her work family at Walmart in West Bend. She enjoyed her work and coworkers. She had great joy baking special cakes for all.

Marion enjoyed always having friends and family around. Anyone Marion met never left as a stranger. She always had a smile for everyone.
