Charles Arthur Leamon, 76

Charles Arthur Leamon Jr. of Cedarburg passed away peacefully at Lasata Care Center on Dec. 9, 2010, at the age of 76.

Charles was born in Atlanta on May 20, 1934, to Charles A. Sr. and Martha (nee Coleman) Leamon.

Charles graduated from North Fulton High School in Atlanta, where he played basketball and football and ran track (hurdles). He earned his business degree (B.B.A.) from the University of Georgia, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

"Charlie" enjoyed a successful, 36-year career with Mead Packaging Corp. He held several sales positions in Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio and Georgia, calling primarily on soft drink companies and breweries. In 1991, he was transferred to Toronto to revitalize Mead Packaging’s business there, and he achieved great success in doing so. Prior to his retirement in 1996, Charles was the general sales manager for Mead Packaging, headquartered in Atlanta.

An avid golfer and card player, recreational fisherman and excellent entertainer of clients and guests, Charles had a remarkable passion for life. The "consummate gentleman" up to the end, Charles drew people to himself with his confidence and charm.

Charles is survived by his children, Julie Leamon of  Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.,  Laura (William) Carson of LaGrange, Ga., and Aimee (David) Wiley of Cedarburg; grandchildren, Charles Cordell "Cord" and Alice Ann Carson and Judah, Phinehas, Elijah and Autumn Wiley; siblings, Warren Leamon of Blairsville, Ga., and Sarah Valentine of Colorado Springs, Colo., Alice (Hurst) Williams, Joy (Johnson) Leamon and Ann (Deadman) Leamon; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Private services were held.  Charles was interred at Immanuel Cemetery, Cedarburg.
