Robert ‘Bob’ James Spartz

Robert "Bob" James Spartz died unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 13, 2010. He was born to the late Wilfred and Evelyn (nee Grotelueschen) Spartz on Feb. 23, 1948.

He graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1966. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, doing a tour in Germany. When he returned home he started working at Weasler Engineering. In November of 1969 he started working for the City of West Bend. He worked in the sanitation department, the street department, building maintenance and then the parks, recreation and forestry department. After 37 years he retired in March of 2007. Bob was proud to have been the longest serving city worker in West Bend.

In 1968, he met Rose Monday and they were married on May 23, 1970. Bob and Rosie have one son, Christopher, born in 1972.

Bob enjoyed his cabin in Crivitz, going to various casinos and gardening.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Rosie, his beloved son Chris, his brother Tom (Janet) Spartz and his twin sister Betty (John) Arndt. He is further survived by his brothers-in law and sisters-in-law: Norbert (Mary Jo) Monday, Mary Ann Monday, Kenneth Monday, Cathy Matthiae, Margie (Steve) Jaschob, Mike (Judy) Monday and Jim McGaw, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend with the Rev. Nathan Reesman presiding. Visitation will be Monday, at from 3 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. at the church. Memorials to the West Bend Park, Recreation and Forestry Department or the West Bend Athletic Association are appreciated.

Bob, you will be forever in our hearts and we loved you very much. You will be so deeply missed.
