Raymond August Rammer

Raymond A. Rammer, of Sheboygan, died on Friday evening, December 17, 2010 at the Beechwood Rest Home.
    Raymond was born on Jan. 23, 1921, in Sheboygan, the son of the late Leonard and Cora (nee Buschmann) Rammer. Ray attended Erdman School. On Aug. 12, 1944, he married Delores Schroeder in Sheboygan. Ray worked at Gilson Manufacturing in Plymouth for 15 years prior to his retirement in 1983.
    He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Parish in Sheboygan. Earlier in his life he served as an usher for the Sheboygan Redskins. He enjoyed football, playing sheepshead, gardening, fishing, dancing, traveling and raising turkey ducks.
    Ray is survived by his wife, Delores of Sheboygan; two daughters, Cindy Dorn of Beechwood and Chris (Joel) Firme of Adell; two sons, Lee (Debbie) Rammer of West Bend and Scott (Mary) Rammer of Kewaskum; 11 grandchildren, Kortney Smith, Bluex Ruthledge, Lark Ruthledge, Jamie Firme, Brad, Brek, Cory, Ryan (Julie), Elizabeth, Erin and Erica Rammer; two step-grandchildren, Tom (Amy) Neuy and Doug (Kerri) Schleif; 15 great grandchildren; and one sister, Lorraine LeMahieu of Sheboygan.
    Ray was preceded in death by one son, Barry Rammer; one sister, Marion Schultz; and one brother, Vernon Rammer.
    A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Dominic Catholic Parish on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Radetski officiating. Entombment will follow at the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum in the town of Sheboygan. Friends may greet the family at St. Dominic Catholic Parish on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m.
    A memorial fund is being established in his memory for St. Dominic Catholic Parish and the American Lung Association.
