Leslie J. ‘Les’ Paul
Leslie J. "Les" Paul, 81, of West Bend died on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.
He was born on March 22, 1929, in Kewaunee to the late Rudolf and Anna (nee Annoye) Paul.
Les served with the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of corporal.
On Oct. 8, 1949, he was united in marriage to Evelyn C. Wolosek at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Appleton. They have lived in West Bend since 1969.
During his working life, he was employed as a firefighter, a carpenter and retired from Puerlick’s in Milwaukee.
A few of Les’ hobbies included working on cars, woodworking and building different things – mainly from wood – for family members.
He was a man who valued his family. His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always the most important parts of his life.
Survivors include six children, Leslie Jr. (Karen) of North Aurora, Ill., Sandra (Michael) Peterson of Sherwood, Darrell (Teddy) of Columbus, Ohio, Duane (Mary) of Madison, Lynn (Rory) Zander of West Bend and Laurie of West Bend; 11 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Alice (Robert) Boisen of Stoughton and Janice (John) Zarling of Cedarburg; a brother, Robert of Fond du Lac; two sistersin-law, Lorraine (Chuck) Kaufman of Appleton and Eileen Wolosek of Appleton; two brothers-in-law, Charles (Evelyn) Wolosek of Appleton and Clarence Wolosek of Neenah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Rudolf Jr., Alan and Donald; his parents-in-law, Martha and John Wolosek; and a brother-inlaw, Glen Wolosek.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be at the church only on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m.
