Marilyn Steckbauer, 75

Marilyn Steckbauer (nee Fritz), 75, of West Bend died on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at her residence.

Marilyn was born on Dec. 8, 1935 in the Town of Herman to Henry and Anita (nee Breuer) Fritz. She moved at a very young age to the Allenton area and lived in the Allenton/St. Anthony area until 2008 at which time she moved to West Bend. She married Robert J. Steckbauer on May 3, 1958 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Allenton. She attended West Bend High School and after graduation, worked various secretarial positions before retiring. Marilyn pursued her love of quilting and shared her gifts with many friends and family members. She enjoyed her flower gardens and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 52 years Robert J.; children Robert L. (Eileen) Ambrose Steckbauer of Oak Creek and William (Lisa) Steckbauer of Theresa; grandchildren Angela Steckbauer of Mayville, Jason Steckbauer of Theresa, and David Ambrose-Steckbauer and Maija Ambrose-Steckbauer of Oak Creek; and great-grandson Hunter Timothy Bodden of Horicon. She is further survived by her sisters Dorothy Jazak of West Bend and Veronica (Leroy) Doll of Hartford, brother Eugene (Janet) Fritz of Allenton, sister-in-law Arlene Anklam of Oshkosh, daughter-in-law Rebecca (Landvatter-Steckbauer) Padour of Menomonee Falls, and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Marilyn is preceded in death by her sons Dale Steckbauer and Timothy Steckbauer and her parents.

A Mass of Christian burial for Marilyn will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 215 Main St., Allenton with the Revs. Joseph Dominic and Michael Wild officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27 at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend. Additional visitation from 9 a.m. until time of Mass on Tuesday, Dec. 28 at Resurrection Catholic Church. Interment at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Allenton.
