Joel E. ‘Egor’ Ciriacks, 71

    Joel E. "Egor" Ciriacks, 71, passed away on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee surrounded by his family.
    Joel was born on April 8, 1939, in West Bend to Elmer and Rita (nee Klein) Ciriacks. He married Carol Buch on Aug. 4, 1962, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Slinger. They spent a wonderful 48 years together creating a home and family in Hartford.
    Joel was member of St. Kilian Catholic Church. He worked as a patrolman for the Washington County Highway Department for 39 years. Along with his job at the highway department, he found time to work part-time at the Washington County Sheriff’s Department as a special deputy and at Zivko Ballroom as a security guard. Joel loved baseball. He played competitive baseball for over 40 years traveling all around the area with his family for games. He loved camping, he was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with his family and friends.
    Joel is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Martin (Amie) of Maribel, Timothy (Lisa) of East Troy, Margaret (Scott) Sabin of Slinger and Elizabeth (Brian) Leair of Cedarburg; 12 grandchildren, Nathan, Hannah, Noah, Joey, Jonathan, Daniel, Kiley, Derek, Allison, Jake, Abby and Luke; his brothers, Daniel (Lynn) of Brookfield and Brian Ciriacks of Nekoosa; and his sister, Mary Ellen (Konstantyn) Sadownikow of West Bend. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Joel is preceded in death by his parents.
    Mass of Christian burial for Joel will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 6 p.m. at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 264 W. State St., Hartford, with the Rev. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Internment at St. Kilian Cemetery in Hartford.
