Fred DelaCruz, 68


Fred DelaCruz, 68, of the town of Rubicon, formerly of Jackson, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at his residence.

He was born May 31, 1941, in Germany to the late Rufino and Marie (nee Hamburger) DelaCruz. He married Mary Lou Handel on June 10, 1972, in Santa Barbara, Calif. Mary Lou passed away March 26, 2001.

Fred was employed at Seneca Canning in Jackson for many years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church, Jackson. Fred loved car racing, tractor pulls, ice fishing and football.

He is survived by his "adopted family," Rod and Terry Legate, and their son, Nick Wilmot; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother, Bernd Bohndorf.

A memorial service in remembrance of Fred will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 1 p.m. at St. Johnís Lutheran Church (Division Road and Western Avenue), Jackson, and a reception will follow the service.
