Gerald V. Debroux, 79

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton for Gerald V. Debroux, 79, of Grafton, who went to his heavenly home on Feb. 2, 2010.  Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Gerald was born in Phlox on July 27, 1930, the son of Andrew and Appolonia (nee Van Boxtel) Debroux. He was united in marriage to Barbara Hoffmeister on Nov. 12, 1955, in Phlox.

Gerald was a devoted family man. He was also a storyteller and a joker. Gerald enjoyed square dancing and was also an avid camper. He was a member of the Rose Harms American Legion Post 355 and a former member of the Peter Wollner Cedarburg Post.

Gerald is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; loving children, David (Candy) Debroux, Bonnie (Dr. Joe Schwind) Raettig, Mari (Scott) Fohey, Eugene (Mary) Debroux, Sharon (Mike) Gerek and Tom (Patty) Debroux.

He is further survived by 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, eight siblings, other relatives and friends.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Angela Raettig; two sisters and two brothers.
