Bernice Finstad, 98
 

Bernice Finstad, a long-time resident of Ellsworth and more recently of Cedarburg, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family at the age of 98.

Bernice was born in the town of Maiden Rock, in Pierce County on Nov. 24, 1911, to Frederick and Katherine (nee Crain) Stockwell and married Norman Finstad in Milwaukee on Oct. 4, 1933.

Bernice is survived by her children, Katherine (Jim) Groth of Cedarburg and Frederick (Sandra) Finstad of Shelbyville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jim (Lira) Groth of Chicago, Sarah Groth of Chicago, Eric (Alina) Groth of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Angela (Dale) Bohnert of River Falls, Michele (Marty) Hintze of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Paul

(Donna) McDonough of Plum City. She is further survived by one sister, Doris Scheide of Middleton, and one brother, Milton "Skip" (Beverly) Stockwell, of Ellsworth; 13 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Ellsworth.
