Alice L. Stauss, 77, nee Liesener, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Cedar Crossings at Pleasant Valley.
Alice was born on May 7, 1932, to Alfred and Anita (nee Gumm) Liesener and married the late Alfred Stauss on Feb. 27, 1954, at Christ Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Alice was a retired clinic and hospital nurse. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Slinger, various prayer groups and former organist for Christ Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Beloved wife of the late Alfred “Rusty” Strauss. Alice is survived by her four daughters, Linda (Patrick) Cleary, Sandy (Scott) Greve, Susan Stauss and Rhonda (Gordon) Bell. She was the proud grandmother to Ryan, Jenna, Sean, Brett, Spencer and Leah. Dear sister of Marita (John “Dick”) Ballachey. She is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Phyllis and brother-in-law David Rath.
A funeral service for Alice will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13 2010, at noon at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 4860 Arthur Road, Slinger, with Rev. Matthew Short officiating. Visitation will be at the church only on Saturday, Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon. Private interment will be at Christ Lutheran Cemetery of Jackson.
