Lillian Groth


Lillian (nee Terlinden) Groth long-time resident of West Bend, more recently of Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 years.

Lillian was born in the Town of Wayne in Washington County on Jan. 21, 1921 to the late Henry and Amelia (nee Schmidt) Terlinden, and married the late Roland Groth in Dodge County in March 25, 1944.

She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend. She was a strong and independent woman who loved beautiful flowers, growing vegetables and caring for children her own and those in the community for whom she babysat.

Lillian is survived by her children Robert (Jeanne Harris) Groth of Denver, Colo., James (Katherine) Groth of Cedarburg and Raymond (Lynn) Groth of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren David Groth of Denver, Colo., Jim (Lira) Groth of Chicago, Sarah Groth of Chicago, Eric (Ali-na) Groth of Buf-falo Grove, Ill., Mc-Neill (Kristen) Wester of Char-lotte, N.C. and Forest (Sara) Wester of Key Biscayne, Fla. She is further survived by eight great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15 at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, with the Rev. David Schoob officiating.

Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation from 12 until 12:45 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church.
