Fred J. Hill, 98

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Lasata Care Center, W76 N677 Wauwatosa Road, Cedarburg, for Fred J. Hill who died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, surrounded by his family at the age of 98.

Visitation will be held at the Lasata Chapel on Friday from9:30 a.m. o. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Fred was born in Franklin on Oct. 23, 1911, to Walter and Cecilia Hill. He was united in marriage to Kathryn (nee Schielke) on Jan. 26, 1974, at Christ King Church in Wauwatosa.

Fred was an all-around athlete and loved to compete. He enjoyed all sports including golf, tennis, bowling, softball and fishing.

Fred enjoyed dancing, including square dancing, line dancing, round dancing and ballroom dancing. Fred and Kathryn traveled to Mexico, Switzerland, Morocco, Hawaii and many more places. Traveling was a passion for the both of them. Even though Fred was a wonderful person he will be remembered as a “gentle man.”

Fred is survived by his wife, Kathryn; stepchildren, Marilyn (John) Sorenson, Jim (Judy Treskow) Carney and Jerry Carney; grandchildren, Alan (Tammy) Leszczynski, Julie (Jim) Ruhnke and Deana (Bryan) Mentzel. He is further survived by five great-grandchildren, two nieces, Debra (David) Pluger and Susan (Richard) Van Dem Aaker; nephew, Donald (Sue) Hill; and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank Hill and sister June Andreska.
