Francis ‘Yogi’ Bera, 74

Francis "Yogi" Bera, 74, of White Lake, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at his home.

He was born on Sept. 15, 1935, in Antigo to the late Joseph and Pauline (nee Banczak) Bera. He was raised in Milwaukee and later moved to Richfield, where he graduated from Slinger High School. He started his career in the trucking industry shortly after graduating high school. In 1989 he moved to Langlade County where he continued to work until his retirement last year.

Yogi enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and learning about agriculture. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan.

Survivors include six daughters, Barbara Parente of Slinger, Deborah Johnson of Slinger, Shirley (Ron) Schulties of Slinger, Patricia Bera of Fredonia, Mary (Jose) Camacho of Adell and Sarah (Joseph) Brown of Birnamwood; four sons, Paul (Lisa) Bera of Palmyra, Maine, John (Jennifer) Bera of Slinger, Daniel Bera of Greenville, N.C., and Jacob (Kari) Konrath-Bera of Chugiak, Ark.; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Antonette and Arlene; and two brothersm Anthony and Gerald (Sue).

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Judith Marie and Lois.

Following Yogi’s wishes, no services will be held.
