Otto W. Pagel, 95
Otto W. Pagel, 95, of Kewaskum, formerly of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at the Samaritan Heath Center in West Bend.
He was born on Dec. 16, 1914, in Oberhausan, Germany, to the late Richard and Hedwig (nee Voss) Pagel. At a young age, Otto and his family immigrated to the United States and eventually settled in West Bend in 1926.
Otto was united in marriage to Dorothy Kuschel on June 27, 1942, at St. Johnís Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend. He served his country honorably during World War II by enlisting in the U.S. Army. Following the war Otto worked at the West Bend Company for 47 years before retiring as a supervisor on Jan. 1, 1980.
Otto enjoyed playing sheepshead and was a member of both St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum and the Fred A. Schaefer V.F.W. Post No. 1393 in West Bend.
Otto is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Kewaskum; his daughter, Linda (Don) Wallisch of Mequon; his grandson, Scott Wallisch of Mequon; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Otto was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and a brother.
A funeral service in honor of Otto will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. The Rev. Troy Swenson will officiate and entombment will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday, at the funeral home, from noon until the time of service.
