Roger E. Gust, 81, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5,
2010, at
St. Joseph
’s Hospital in
West Bend
.
Roger was born on July 6, 1928, in Byron to Carl
and Erna (nee Rucks) Gust. Raised in Abbotsford, Roger enlisted in the
U.S. Army Air Corp. and later U.S. Air Force after his schooling. After
leaving the Army, Roger worked several jobs. He was past commander and
very active in the American Legion Post No. 32, past commander of Disabled
American Veterans No. 58, served on both the Fourth of July Parade and
Memorial Day Parade committees, and volunteered at the Clement J. Zablocki
Veterans Hospital.
Roger is survived by his wife, Elaine; children,
Maynard (Cathy) Gust of West Bend, Lorie (Blase) Peksa of Milwaukee,
Christy Gust of West Bend and Melissa Foster of Fond du Lac; and
grandchildren, Michel and Bryan. He is further survived by his sisters,
Inez Schwoch, Bernadine Faul, Carol Ehnert and Faith Gust; brother,
Richard (Marilyn) Gust; and brotherin-law, Fred Rode.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Carl
and Erna (nee Rucks) Gust; brothers, David and Milo Gust; brothers-in-law,
Elmer Schwoch, Charles Faul, Jr. and Robert Ehnert.
A funeral service for Roger will be at 11 a.m. on
Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at 5th
