Richard A. “Rick” Barry, 64, of Slinger, passed away Dec. 30, 2009.
Rick was a people person. Loving the time spent in restaurants with family and friends and just getting together. He will be remembered as a “go-to” person with the ability to always get the job done. All appreciated his sense of humor. His standard joke being, “I think you dropped something,” upon looking at the floor, he would reply, “your smile,” immediately bringing smiles to all around.
He was the soul mate and husband of 37 years to Sherrie (nee Dobratz). Proud father of Adam, Bridget and Amber. Loving grandfather of Caiden. Brother of Lillian, the late Al Jr., Barbara, Sharon (Brian) Waldeck, John, Beverly Frey and Robert Waid. Special “Uncle Ricky” to Vince and Theresa. Further survived by nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Barry Sr. and Tillie (nee Atinsky) Berry.
A memorial visitation will be Friday, Jan. 8, at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Chapel of the Flowers, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, from 2 p.m. until the memorial services at 4 p.m.
A special thank you to the caregivers at Milwaukee VA Hospital, which became his home away from home.
His cell phone is going with him. We are sure it will be ringing off the hook with his familiar tune, “When the Saints Go Marching In.” As a last farewell, you know what to do, leave a message at the beep.
Jelacic Funeral Home is serving the family, (414) 466-2134.
