Beulah I. Uttech


Beulah I. Uttech (nee Durkee), 76, of Hartford, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Beulah was born Jan. 23, 1933, in Watertown to Alex and Esther (nee Behling) Durkee. She was united in marriage to Melvin Uttech on Oct. 23, 1949, in Lebanon.

Beulah worked for over 25 years as a grade school bus driver for Wittenberger Bus Service. She enjoyed camping and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Beulah was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and was totally devoted to her family.

Beulah is survived by her husband, Melvin Uttech; her children, Barbara (John) Schellinger of Rubicon, Deborah Uttech (special friend, Andrew Fath) of Iron Ridge, Barry (Ruby) Uttech of Beaver Dam, Mark Uttech of Hartford, Brian (Danielle) Uttech of Kewaskum; 15 grandchildren, Anthony (Katie) Schellinger, Jessica (Marten) Roque, Nichole (Chase) Roberts, Scott (Vanessa) Uttech, Brenda Uttech, Brad Kutz (special friend, Jessica Ohoreo), Kevin (Suzanne) Kutz, Stephanie Kutz, Cindy (Pat) DeNune, Jenny Uttech, Sarah Uttech, Sharon Uttech, Justin (Jennifer) Uttech, Cory Uttech and Bryanna Uttech; 13 great-grandchildren, Dexter Schellinger, Dominic Roque, Isalena Roque, Scott Roberts, Jade VanRensslaer, Hanna Zimina, Shaelin Kutz, Dylan Kutz, Brent DeNune, Kaytlyn DeNune, Zander DeNune, Emily Uttech and Cory Uttech Jr.; her sister, Fran Schuck; three sisters-inlaw, Margaret Krohn, Eileen (Donald) Gentz and Frances Uttech; and one brother-inlaw, Raymond (Irene) Uttech.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Esther (Behling) Durkee; her in-laws, Paul F. and Mable (nee Wittchow) Uttech; two brothers, Gordon Durkeeand Merlin Durkee; four brothersin-law, William Schuck, Floyd Uttech, Ewald Krohn and Elmer Uttech; and one greatgrandchild, Kailey Gennett.

Funeral services for Beulah will be Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 1001 Center St., Hartford, with the Rev. Aaron Steinbrenner officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford, and on Wednesday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
