Kay L. Hickey, 58
Mrs. Kay L. Hickey of Farmview Drive in Belgium passed away early Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. She was 58 years old.
Kay was born Aug. 30, 1951, in Port Washington, the daughter of Ernst and Lucille Bastian Rintelman. She was employed as a registered nurse at various places. She was united in marriage with Thomas Hickey on March 27, 1999, in Milwaukee. The couple resided in Cedarburg until March of 2008, when they moved to Belgium. Kay was a member of Cornerstone Church in Grafton, where she led women’s Bible studies. She enjoyed playing league volleyball and softball in Cedarburg, and loved spending time with her family.
Kay is survived by her husband, Thomas; three children, David (Aimee) Wiley of Cedarburg, Laura (Michael) Cullen of Beloit and Michelle (Timothy) Stewart of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two step-children, Ross Hickey (significant other Holly Horng) of Mequon and Loren (Peter) Jansen of Milwaukee. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren, Judah, Phinehas, Elijah and Autumn Wiley, Kirsten, Brooke, Connor and Joshua Cullen, Faith and Paisley Stewart; and one granddaughter on the way; her sister, Lona Angelacos of Winthrop Harbor, Ill.; two brothers, Dennis (Betty) Rintelman of Cedarburg and Glenn Rintelman of Princeton; her aunt, LaVerne Carter of Mequon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernst and Lucille.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at Cornerstone Church, 1187 Falls Road in Grafton. Pastor Joe Stillone officiated. The family received visitors at the church on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Kay was laid to rest at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg.
