Gordon W. Menke of North Fond du Lac, formerly of West Bend, died on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Manor Care in Fond du Lac at the age of 88.

He was born on May 28, 1921, in Port Washington to the late Elmer and Sylvia (nee Fisher) Menke.

On Feb. 18, 1950, Gordon was united in marriage to Louise T. Weis in Milwaukee. Louise predeceased Sept. 18, 2007.

Survivors include six children, Jane of Cedarburg, Pearl (Clifford) Muzik of West Bend, Virginia (David) Laatch of West Bend, Debbie Stariduher of Cedar Grove, Arnold of Cedarburg and Keith (Bonnie) of Sheboygan Falls; 10 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Norman (Ruth) of West Bend and Russell of Willard; one sister, Delores Erickson of Fond du Lac; three sisters-inlaw, June Menke of Minnesota, Irene (Bob) Schendel of West Bend and Betty Weis of Milwaukee; two brothers-inlaw Wally (Betts) Weis of Jackson and Karl (Gwen) Weis of Milwaukee; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl, Glenn, Daniel and Norbert.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend with Rev. David Schoob officiating. Cremation will follow. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 until 2:45 p.m.

The family has requested memorials to Heartland Hospice.
