James C. Nienow, 74
James C. Nienow, 74, passed away on Wednesday,
Jan. 13, 2010, from a Parkinson’s-related disease called Multiple System
Atrophy.
James was born on Nov. 15, 1935, in the town of
Polk to Henry and Clara (nee Maas) Nienow. He married Janet Janto on March
24, 1987.
James was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting,
fishing, camping, hiking, travelling, and woodworking. He played on
various baseball and softball teams and was a longtime member of Our
Savior’s Lutheran Church in West Bend and a volunteer on the Jackson
Fire Department. James enjoyed photography and belonged to both the West
Bend Camera Clique and the River Edge Camera Club. In 1998, he retired
from Leeson Electric in Grafton.
James is survived by his wife of 22 years, Janet
(nee Stuettgen), children Calvin (Kathy) Nienow, Sheila Nienow and Kelly
(Aaron) Polly, step-children Trish (Dave) Mervenne and Boyd (Diana) Janto,
grandchildren Leah, Chad, Kori, Troy (Stephanie) and Jena Nienow, Zack
Nienow, Alex and Katie Polly, Kayla, Abby and Pey-ton Janto, Tess and Will
Mervenne, and greatgranddaughter Talia Nienow. James is preceded in death
by his parents Henry and Clara (nee Maas) Nienow and sister Eunice Nienow.
A funeral service for James will be at 2 p.m. on
Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Phillip Funeral Home 1420 W. Paradise Drive,
West Bend with Pastor Pam Marolla officiating. Visitation will be at the
funeral home from 11 a.m. until the start of services at 2 p.m.
