Jean Arlene Harrison, 78

Jean Arlene Harrison (nee Helmann), 78, of West Bend, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at Kettle Moraine Gardens.

Jean was born on Feb. 26, 1931, to Earl and Alice (nee Minshall) Helmann in Janesville. She graduated form Portage High School in 1949 and then married Stanley A. Harrison on April 15, 1950, at Moundville Methodist Church. Jean was loved by her family, church and was an avid volunteer for Fifth Ave. United Methodist Church, St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary, Girl Scouts and the Big Sisters Program. She loved music of all kinds and doing things for others.

Jean will be deeply missed by her husband, Stanley A. Harrison of West Bend; children, Rick Harrison of West Bend, Sheila Willey of Rawlins, Wyo., Sonja (Ted) Leute of West Bend and Todd (Beth) Harrison of West Bend. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Christopher (Kathy) Held of Wausau, Josh (Jennifer) Leute of Port Washington, Hanna Leute of West Bend, Corey Willey of Casper, Wyo., Cody Harrison of West Bend, Graeme Harrison of West Bend and Georgia Harrison of West Bend; great-grandchildren Olivia and Henry Held of Wausau and Haley Jo Leute of West Bend; sister Jenny (Robert) Luscombe of Strentor, Ill.; sister-in-law Lavonne Ely of Owen; brotherin-law Delroy Wright of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jane Marie Wright; and brother-inlaw, Gordon Ely.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel West Bend with the Rev. Janis Best officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 23, from noon until time of service. Memorials are appreciated to Fifth Ave. United Methodist Church.

A special thank you to Kettle Moraine Gardens Assisted Living employees, Allay Hospice nurses and chaplain all who are angels, Dr. Mangold of West Bend, Pastor Janis Best along with Lifestar Ambulance employees for all their loving and special care of Jean.
