August A. "Gus" Busalacchi, 94, of West Bend passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010. Gus died of pneumonia at Hartford Hospital.

August was born on Feb. 11, 1915, in the city of Milwaukee to Luigi and Vincenza (nee Sutera). He married Frances Marino on Sept. 3, 1938.

Gus was a devoted family man and is the father of Louis Busalacchi and Virginia Anselmi. He is proud grandfather to Anthony Anselmi and Andrew Anselmi and greatgrandfather to Justin and Joshua. Gus is further survived by his brother, Joseph; and sisters, Rose Holzman and Anna (Gerald) Jacoby.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances; his parents, Luigi "Louis" and Vincenza "Jennie" (nee Sutera); and siblings, August, Maria Grasso, Vincent, Ursula Bartolone and Grace.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 2, 2010, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 3930 N. 92nd St. (92nd and Capitol Drive), Milwaukee. A gathering of family and friends will be at the church only from 1 p.m. until time of services.
