Myrtle Hazel Ehlke

Myrtle Hazel Ehlke, 92, of Jackson, died June 30, 2010.

Myrtle was born in Canada on May 4, 1918, a daughter of the late Frank and Helen (nee Haug) Hoffman. She married Clarence Ehlke on Sept. 21, 1941, at Luther Memorial Chapel in Milwaukee. After they married, Myrtle and Clarence settled on a farm near Jackson.

Church was an important part of her life, and Myrtle was a long time member of Davidís Star Evalgelical, where she was also a member of the Ladies Aid. Myrtle was very handy in crafting, doing needlework, tatting doilies and making a lot of quilts.

Myrtle is survived by her children, Harold (Janice) Ehlke and Richard (Cindy) Ehlke; grandchildren, Lisa (Jonathan) Ninmer, Daniel (fiancť, Tracey Cole) Ehlke, Andrew (Corrin) Ehlke and Jessica (Benjamin) Washburn; great-grandchildren Joseph Ehlke, Samuel Ehlke, Elizabeth Ehlke, Evelyn Ehlke, Kathryn Ehlke and Caden Washburn; brothers, Edward (the late Dorothy) Hoffman, Walter Hoffman, Arthur Hoffman; and sister, Blanche (the late Alfred) Scharnick. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence; and her sisters, Elsie (the late Charles) Fyke and Gladys (the late Aden) Tonn.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 5, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Davidís Star Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kirchhayn. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from noon until the time of service. Interment at the church cemetery.
