Eleanore Hess, 93

Eleanore Hess (nee Haack), 93, entered Heaven on Sunday July 11, 2010, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was born on Jan. 3, 1917, to Alfred and Paulina (nee Paukner) Haack of Milwaukee.

Eleanore worked at the Johnson and Johnson Cookie Factory in Milwaukee. She met her husband at the Arthur Murray Studios. Willard was farming for his dad at the time in Allenton. They were married on July 8, 1950, and they just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Together, they worked the farm for seven years. They then moved to West Bend and became active in the First Baptist Church after coming to know the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior. Eleanore did babysitting at home and also enjoyed working in the church nursery. She loved to can and freeze the food from the farm, sew and help others by showing Christ through her life. In 2006, she was diagnosed with cancer, which was removed but later returned.

Eleanore is survived by her loving and faithful husband, Willard; a loving daughter, Rhonda Spaulding of Fond du Lac; her sister, Lorraine Whittler of Milwaukee; nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Alfred Haack Jr.; sisters, Ann "Tootie" Haack and Doris Zielesch; and son-inlaw, Ken Spaulding.

A funeral service for Eleanore will be held 7 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010, at First Baptist Church, 2300 S. Main St., West Bend, with the Rev. Bruce Dunford presiding. Visitation will be at the church only on Friday from 5 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Washington County Memorial Park. Memorials are appreciated to First Baptist Church or WVCY (107.7), 3434 W Kilbourn Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53208.

Her favorite verse: 1 John 4:19 "We loved Him because He first loved us."

"Mom, you are such a beautiful example to me. You have strength of character I truly admire a warm, gentle spirit that encourages me in so many ways; a loving, giving heart that makes countless sacrifices. I appreciate you so much, and thank God for blessing my life with you."
