Gregor Vos, 80
Gregor
Vos, 80, of West Bend, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010, at the Samaritan
Health Center.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1929, in St. Albans, Minn., to the late Anton and
Rose (nee Mader) Vos. He moved to West Bend in 1946 with his brother and
started working at Pick Manufacturing Co. He then started working at the
Gehl Company for a short time before entering the U.S. Army and serving in
Korea. After returning to West Bend, he worked at the Gehl Company again
until retiring in 1993.
On Nov. 12, 1955, Gregor was united in marriage to Carol Behrends at Holy
Angels Catholic Church.
Gregor was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, the Gehl
Company Hexelbank Club and the Lt. Ray Dickop American Legion Post No. 36.
He enjoyed fishing and working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; three children, Sue (Peter) Logan of
West Bend, Cathy (Gary) Fichtner of West Bend and Mark Vos of West Bend;
seven grandsons, Ben (Cari) Logan, Peter (Sarah) Logan, Mike Logan, Luke
and Josh Fichtner, Trevor and Aaron Vos; three great-grandchildren, Kain
Fichtner, Delaney Fichtner, and Abby Logan; three sisters, Cecelia Vos of
Mankato, Minn., Adelia Braden of Brandon and Mathilda (Lloyd) Ebert of
Albany, Minn.; two sisters-in-law, Pat (Dan) Harter of West Bend and Ruth
(Ed) Poehlman of Horicon; a brother-in-law, Doug (Sue) Behrends of West
Bend; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Rose, Hattie Bair and
Rosemary Casper; and three brothers, Raymond, Nicholas and Sylvester Vos.
A Mass of Christian burial in remembrance of Gregor will be held on
Thursday July 15th at noon at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 S.
7th Ave., West Bend. The Rev. Jeffrey Haines will officiate. Burial will
follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the
church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
