James H. ‘Jim’ Herdina, 59
James H. "Jim" Herdina, 59, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010.
He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor.
Jim was born on March 28, 1951, to George and Marylne (nee Hefter) Herdina. He was born and raised in Milwaukee, where he attended Marquette High School, class of 1969, and Marquette University. He married Betty Rapp on March 16, 1979. Jim worked for J.D. Griffith part-time during college and then for the West Bend Police Department as a police officer. Jim worked for J.D. Griffith for 25 years of dedicated service as an expeditor. He enjoyed woodworking, grilling outside and Jim could fix anything! He was also a member of the Barton Sportsman Club.
Jim is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, James and Jesse; parents, George and Marylne Herdina; sister, Susan (Ronnie Bonds) Herdina; mother-in-law, Ella Rapp; sister-in-law, Sandra (Maynard) Tremelling; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Mary) Rapp and Randal (Teri) Rapp; nieces, Meaghan Bonds, Kari Klos, Marissa Geitner, Brianna Rapp and Amy Meinholdt; nephew, Kevin Tremelling; other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Elmer Rapp.
A funeral service for Jim will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010, at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, with the Rev. Rick Stoffel presiding. Visitation at the funeral home only from 4 p.m. until time of service. Interment Washington County Memorial Park.
