Virginia Burrough, 91

Virginia Burrough, 91, of Silvis, Ill., passed away July 15, 2010, at her residence. Virginia, a former resident of Logansport, Ind., recently relocated from West Bend to Silvis.

Born Aug. 8, 1918, in Butler, Ind., Virginia was the daughter of John C. and Blanche Nebb Ryan. She was married July 4, 1943, in Logansport, Ind., to Donald E. Burrough, who survives.

 A graduate of Logansport High School, Virginia was a housewife and devoted mother. She volunteered at her children’s school functions, was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and was active in her church. Hobbies included playing bridge and collecting Hummels. Virginia enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending winters in Arizona.

Surviving are two sons, Donald L. (Sue) Burrough of Silvis, Ill., and John Ryan (Carolyn) Burrough, of Johnston, Iowa; a daughter, Gini L. (Steve) Curry, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; a sister, Barbara Deane, of Logansport; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gerald, Bert and Herschel Ryan; and two sisters, Juanita O’Conner and Phyllis Brewer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services in the funeral chapel.
