Alvin J. ‘Al’ Barutha, 77
Alvin
J. "Al" Barutha, 77, of Kewaskum, passed away on Tuesday, July
20, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk surrounded by his
family.
He was born on Oct. 6, 1932, in Cudahy, the son of the late Frank and
Frances (nee Zinda) Barutha, and on June 3, 1972, he was united in
marriage to Charleen Vetter Dreher at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran
Church in Kewaskum.
Al proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict
and was a faithful, dedicated member of the Robert G. Romaine American
Legion Post 384 Kewaskum. He was also a member of Immanuel Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Campbellsport.
Al will fondly be remembered for his love of golfing, deer hunting and the
enjoyment he received from occasional gambling outings.
Those Al leaves behind to cherish his
memory include his wife, Charleen; three children, Charles
"Chucker" (Kristine) Dreher of the town of Trenton, Chelli
(Steve) Taylor of Whitewater and Carrie (Bruce) Rodenkirch of
Campbellsport; 10 grandchildren, Casey (Tom) Fechter, Amber (Nathanael)
Reynolds, Mitch Dreher (significant other, Celina), Charles III "Chaz"
Dreher, Danny Taylor, Jennifer Taylor (significant other, Sam), Jamy
Taylor (significant other, Blaine), Paul Taylor, Spenser Rodenkirch and
Cecilee Rodenkirch; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Fechter; brothers;
sisters; brothers in-law; sisters-in-law; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by numerous brothers
and sisters and his father and mother-in-law, Ruben and Veila Vetter.
Funeral services for Al will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010,
at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Campbellsport with the Rev.
Paul Cerny officiating. Military honor guard rites, performed by members
of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum, will follow
the service. Cremation will take place following the traditional service.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 11 a.m.
until the time of services.
Memorials to the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum,
Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church or the charity of one’s choice are
appreciated.
