Sandra A. Laufer, 70
Sandra
A. Laufer (nee Dreifuerst), 70, of West Bend passed away on Thursday, July
22, 2010, while traveling in California.
She was born to Sylvester and Bette (nee Croyle)
Dreifuerst on July 23, 1939, in Campbellsport. On April 18, 1959, she
married Joel Anderson. For the first year of their marriage, the couple
resided in River Falls and then settled in West Bend.
They leave behind a wonderful legacy of four
children, Greg (Kathleen) Anderson of Savage, Minn., Linda (Kevin) Steiner
of West Bend, Michele (Scott) Wuest of Oshkosh and Jeffrey (Aimee)
Anderson of Carmel, Ind.; 12 grandchildren, Kali Anderson, Monica
Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Aaron Steiner, Elizabeth Steiner, Peter
Steiner, Andrew Steiner, Emily Wuest, Hannah Boegel, Natalie Boegel, Colin
Anderson and Ian Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel, in
1994.
After Joel’s death, she married her beloved
companion, James Laufer, in 1999 and embraced James’ five children, Dr.
Chris (Jenn) Laufer of Oshkosh, Scott (Jen) Laufer of North Bend, Wash.,
Matthew Laufer of Milwaukee, Lynn (Jason) Wilke of Wauwatosa and Greg
Laufer of Milwaukee; his seven grandchildren, Ben Laufer, Claire Laufer,
Dane Laufer, Annika Laufer, Abby Laufer, Jake Wilke and Olivia Wilke.
Sandy devoted her life to raising her family. Her
grandchildren and stepgrandchildren were the light of her life. She
enjoyed traveling, especially taking a trip with each of her
grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday,
July 30, at 3 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with a private burial of
the cremated remains in Holy Angels Cemetery. Visitation will be at the
church only on Friday from noon until 2:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested
memorials to the Holy Angels School Trust Fund or the charity of the donor’s
choice.
