Deborah A. “Debbie” Wanninger (nee Gravenstine)

Deborah A. “Debbie” Wanninger (nee Gravenstine), 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 29, 2010 surrounded by her family after battling a long illness.

Debbie was born on Aug. 1, 1940 to Jack and Helen (nee Yakey) Gravenstine. On Nov. 28, 1959, she married George Wanninger at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in 2006. Debbie proudly worked and retired from Glacier Hills Credit Union after 35 years of dedicated service. Her heart was devoted to her family, and she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. Although she was not able to achieve her dream by retiring in Florida, she was able to spend time there with her father.

Debbie will be dearly missed by her children Michael (Denise) of West Bend, Mark of Merton, Linda (Jim) of DeForest, and John (Lori) of West Bend; grandchildren Mike, Jr. and Robbie Wanninger of West Bend, Mitchell Wanninger of Merton, and Steve and Karly Nehls of DeForest.

She is further survived by her father Jack Gravenstine, sister Laura (Randy) Miller, step-sisters Betty (Ed) Shamas and Jane (David) Beam, and sisters-in-law Lucille Wanninger and Betty Wanninger. In addition to her husband George, Debbie is preceded in death by her mother Helen Gravenstine, and step-mother Dorothy Gravenstine.

A funeral service for Debbie will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend. Interment will take place at Washington County Memorial Park of West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home only from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
