Roland Fred Senner, 86

Roland Fred Senner, 86, of West Bend passed away Sunday May 30, 2010, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehab.

He was born to Alvin H. and Irene A. (nee Seefeld) Senner on May 9, 1924, in Shorewood. Roland joined the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in World War II, then he worked for various farms, acquiring his farm in 1947. On Oct. 23, 1948, Roland married Cecelia Kimla at St. Johnís Lutheran Church in Newburg. He enjoyed fishing and puzzles. Roland was the town of Trenton chairman for 14 years and was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post No. 36, VFW Post No. 1393, Farm Bureau, Red Cross and former president of the West Bend School Board.

Roland is survived by his wife, Cecelia; his children, Irene Totsky of Oshkosh, Carol (Ken) Birkeland of West Bend, Paul Senner of Oshkosh and Frank Senner of Hartford. He is further survived by grandchildren, Kimberly (Travis) Karlgaard and Christopher Totsky, Corryn and Alyssa Birkeland; great-grandchildren, Scott and Daniel Totsky; his sisters, Grace Dexter of La Puente, Calif., Marion Wendt of Apple Valley, Calif., and Jean Lai of Hawaii; and sister-in-law, Tina Senner of California.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Janet; brothers, Alvin, Donald and Norman; brothers-in-law, Walter Wendt and Loi Lai; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Senner and Margaret Senner; and son-in-law, Scott Totsky.

Funeral services for Roland will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel in West Bend with Ron Rewerts presiding. Visitation will at the funeral home will be on Thursday, June 3, from 5 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 4, at Washington County Memorial Park of West Bend.
