Mildred V. Held, 87

Mildred V. Held (nee Becker), 87, of the town of Phelps, formerly of Hustisford, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at her residence.

Mildred was born Sept. 26, 1922, in Slinger to Arthur and Anita (nee Kimmerling) Becker. She was united in marriage to Ray Held on Jan. 10, 1942.

Mildred was a member of the First Congregational Church in Hartford and Faith Bible Alliance Church in Neosho. Ray and Mildred were instrumental in starting Faith Bible Alliance Church. She belonged to the Sinissippi Settlers Homemakers, Slinger Homemakers, Hustisford Senior Citizens and served as President for the Commission on Aging Council. Mildred loved to play games and enjoyed making cards.

She is survived by her six children, Donald (Sandra) of Conover, Larry (Mary) of Erin, David (Renee) of Hustisford, Lynn (Kristine) Held of Whitewater, Colleen (Marvin) Pankratz of Glasgow, Mont., and Cheryl (Paul) Riihimaki of Phelps; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, Allen (Anna Lou) Becker of Slinger. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her sister, Marjorie Becker; and her brother, Ronald Becker.

Funeral services for Mildred will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 6 p.m. at Faith Bible Alliance, W2799 Lehman Road, Neosho, with the Rev. Doug Livingston and the Rev. Stephen Fletcher officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the church from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Neosho.
