Myron A. Kummerow, 62


Myron A. Kummerow, 62, of Mayville, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

Myron was born the son of Hilbert and Martha (nee Kirsch) Kummerow on March 31, 1948, in Beaver Dam. He was a 1966 graduate of Mayville High School. Myron served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was married to Patricia Sell on April 24, 1971, at St. Peterís Lutheran Church in Kekoskee. Myron retired from Lunda Construction Co. in 2009.

Myron was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mayville. He was a former member of the Kekoskee Fire Department. Myron enjoyed playing cards with friends and was a fan of the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed vacationing with his wife Pat and spending time with his family at their trailer. Myron was an easygoing, kind and caring man who was always willing to help others. He lived to be the best "Papa" ever.

Myron is survived by his wife, Patricia of Mayville; his children, Heath (Michelle) Kummerow of Neenah, Tricia (Larry) Schwechel of West Bend and Rachel (Bill) Bettermann of Rochester, Minn.; his sister, Kathy (Ron) Wild of Kekoskee; his brothers, Willis (Bonnie) Kummerow of Markesan and Jeff Kummerow of Washburn; seven grandchildren, Ellie, Abbey, Marina, Jacob, Olivia, Ava and Parker; and is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his niece, Michelle; and nephew, Dan.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2010, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mayville with the Rev. David Zandt officiating. A visitation will also be held on Friday, June 4, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Kekoskee Cemetery in Kekoskee, with graveside military honors conducted by the Mayville American Legion Post No. 69.
