Bernice Mary ĎBí Scott, 91

Bernice Mary "B" Scott (nee Gundrum), 91, the daughter of the late Frank and Frances (nee Wiedmeyer), passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010.

"B" was born on March 10, 1919, in Milwaukee. The family moved to Slinger in May of 1919 when her dad, Frank, and his brother, Joe, opened Gundrum Bros. Meat Market. She graduated from St. Peterís Catholic School, Slinger High School in 1936 and Wisconsin Commercial Academy-Milwaukee in 1938. Upon graduation from the academy, she was featured in the Milwaukee Journal for being the fastest one-hand typist in the country, of which she was very proud. "B" was employed at Monart Motors in Milwaukee for several years and then in Madison for the Wisconsin Unemployment Compensation Department.

On May 13, 1944, she was united in marriage to Staff Sgt. Robert L. Scott. They resided in Slinger. He preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1978. After his death, she was employed as a secretary for St. Peterís School for seven years, retiring in 1985. "B" was a lifetime member of St. Peterís Catholic Church and a member of both the Christian Motherís Society and Hartford Senior Friends.

Her first love was her family, but "B" also loved playing her recital pieces on the piano up until her death. She loved playing cards and traveling. Her upbeat outlook on life quietly provided support to many friends and family members.

"B" is survived by her children, Elaine (Garron) Kokai of Holly Hill, Fla., John Scott of Grafton, Randall (Joan) Scott of Neenah and Sue (Mike) Stieve of Lomira; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one sister, Marian (John) Thoma of West Bend. "B" will be missed by many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Daniel; three sisters, Lucille (Matt) Schaefer, Frances (Jim) Brodzeller and Marilyn Gundrum; and three brothers, the Rev. Tony Gundrum, Jerry (Mickey) Gundrum and Roy (Jenny) Gundrum.

A Mass of Christian burial for "B" will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at St. Peterís Catholic Church, 202 E. Washington St., Slinger, with the Rev. Rick Stoffel presiding. Visitation will be at the church only from 4 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. Private burial at St. Peterís Catholic Cemetery.

Per her request, memorials are appreciated to the St. Peterís Endowment Fund.
