Gordy was born on Sept. 6, 1919 to Fredrick and Louise (Steinberg) Krentz. He was united in marriage to Hilda Loomans on April 12, 1941 in Waupun, Wis.
Gordy served his country in the U. S. Army with the 14th division in WWII. He received a Bronze Star and a battlefield commission and came out a Captain while overseas. He was a life member of both the Courtney-Carr-Milner American Legion Post #19 and the Hartford VFW Post #8834.
Gordy was a joint owner/operator of the family business, Krentz Electric, in Hartford for many years. He was an active member of the Hartford and Kettle Moraine Lions clubs. He received their highest awards — the Melvin Jones Fellow and the Birch-Sturm Fellow — for his commitment to the organization. He acted as treasurer in both groups at one time during his membership. He was a member of the Hartford Masonic Lodge.
Gordy was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Slinger.
He loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He loved any sport and was an avid fan of the Packers. If there was a ball in the air he'd watch it.
