Alvin N. Jaeckels, 79
Alvin N. Jaeckels, 79, of 199 Francis Ave, Cascade, Wis. passed away early
afternoon on Tuesday, June 15, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center where
he had been a patient for the past two days.
Alvin was born on June 25, 1930 in Milwaukee, the son of the late
Sylvester and Margaret (nee Bauer) Jaeckels.
He attended Pleasantview Grade School in
the town of Lyndon and attended Waldo High School.
On July 5, 1952 he was united in marriage to Eileen Lensmire at St.
Michaels Catholic Church in the Town of Mitchell. The couple has resided
in Cascade since their marriage.
Alvin worked for the Lensmire Cheese Company for several years and then at
the West Bend Company for 43 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and
was a former president of the "Holy Name Society" at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Cascade.
Alvin spent 28 years on the Cascade Fire Department and served for 38
years on the Cascade Village Board, five years as a trustee and 33 years
as president, retiring in 1999.
Alvin enjoyed playing cards (Sheepshead and Uecker), bowling, traveling
and spending time with his family.
Survivors include: his loving wife of 57 years, Eileen, of Cascade;
Six children: Pat (Larry) Seitz of West Bend, Shirley (Randy) Gilliam of
Plymouth, Sue (Gary) Bimmel of Sheboygan Falls,
David (Beth) Jaeckels of Cascade, Debra (Ed) Maki of Plymouth, and Diane
(Kurt) Adams of Plymouth;
15 grandchildren: Vicki (Duane) Hayes of Schaumburg, Ill., Jim (Heather)
Seitz of Port Washington, Jenny (Corey) Kappers of Sheboygan Falls, Jackie
Gilliam of Sheboygan Falls, Jodi Gilliam of Sheboygan Falls, Mark
(Tiffany) Bimmel of Sheboygan Falls, Marcia (Chad) Smith of Oxford, Ohio,
Paul (Tiffany) Bimmel of Gibbsville, Todd Bimmel
of Green Bay, Ja-son Jaeckels of Green Bay, Jena Jaeckels of Cascade,
Jaclyn Jaeckels of Cascade, Megan Maki of Plymouth, Kyle Adams of Madison
and Tanya Adams of Madison;
Eight great-grandchildren: Michael, Nicholas and Matthew Bimmel; Gage and
Link Bimmel; Abigail and Kylah Kappers and Lucas Seitz;
One brother-in-law: Gordon (Mary) Becker of Hortonville, Wis.;
Three sisters-in-law: Mary (Gordon) Dreifuerst, Rose Lensmire and Leona
Lensmire, all of Plymouth.
He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister: Arlene Becker, three brothers-inlaw:
Robert Lensmire, Edward (Sharon) Lensmire and Alan Lensmire; and one
sister-in-law: Jean (Wayne) Kolpin.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 18 at
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth preceded by family
prayers at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth at 6:30 p.m. The Rev.
Dennis Van Beek, pastor of the church, will officiate. Cremation will take
place following the services.
Friends and family may call from 2 p.m. on Friday until the time of
services at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. A memorial fund is being
established in his name.
The family would like to thank Dr. George Poullette, the hospitalists and
staffs on the second and third floor of Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center
for all the love and compassion given to Alvin.
